Things to do:

The Pocahontas Trailhead of the Hatfield/Mccoy Trail system is 3.5 miles away. Some people ride their atv’s up route 52 to get there but we do not recommend it! Rt 52 is a heavily traveled road. There is a “back way” by traveling on state Rt 71N that is about 2.1 miles and much safer if you prefer not to trailer to the trailhead.

We stayed in devilanse hideout and it was amazing. It is very nice and clean. Buffalo Trail was well over our expectations. It is a very peaceful, relaxing, beautiful lodge. They have wifi and directv with many channels. They are also very close to the trail heads. So after a long day of riding this is a great place to go and relax. If you sit on the deck at the restaurant you will see a waterfall flowing down to a Koi pond. I would recommend this place to everyone and I will definetly be returning to Buffalo Trail.

The Buffalo trail resort was nice and clean. Its is new, not even finished yet. (I cant wait to see it finished) The lodge was nice with good food and great service (I think our waitress was Shannon both nights). Perfect scenery with the pond and waterfall. However we didn’t drive 6hrs for a restaurant. We came for the cabins and it seems the attention is all on the restaurant. All in all a very nice place to stay. We are very avid 4wheelers and travelers. This is in our top 3 places to stay in Hat.McCoy.

Myself and three others stayed at Devils Anse Hideout this fall, and we loved it! The cabin provided everything we needed to have a nice getaway weekend. The place was clean, new, and the amenities were great including the cable package and fridge!

    :

Devils Anse is a phenomenal cabin! It was great to be out in nature but still be able to have a comfortable, warm and cozy place to stay. We enjoyed grilling and using the fire pit out back, and the ability to eat at the restaurant without having to drive was so nice.

A few friends and I decided to go to West Virginia for the weekend and stayed in the Devil Anse Hideout. Such a great cabin with an excellent view and plenty more fond memories to go with it. I’ll never forget the time John spilt his milk after hearing Diane’s jaw dropping story of the time she fell off stage during her High School graduation. One highlight of the weekend was when Sam burnt his hand on the coals from the grill, after explaining he had lost feeling in his right hand from a ski trip in years past. Classic Sam using his left hand in stead of his right to touch the grill, he never learned. On another note, the beds were very comfy (I tried them all out).
